Frank Robben (°16/3/1961) obtained a master of laws degree at and specialized in legal informatics. He postgraduated in computer auditing and in business administration. Currently, Frank Robben is general manager of the Belgian Crossroads Bank for Social Security, an institution he conceived and founded. The Crossroads Bank for Social Security elaborates the eGovernment strategy within the Belgian social sector and co-ordinates the eGovernment projects in that sector.
The Crossroads Bank for Social Security received a prestigious United Nations Public Service Award for eGovernment in 2006 and a European Public Service Award in 2007. Frank Robben is also co-founder and general manager of the Belgian eHealth-platform, a brand new public institution elaborating and managing a platform that supports electronic service delivery in the health care sector. For information security and privacy protection reasons, the eHealth-platform is strictly separated from the Crossroads Bank for Social Security. Furthermore, Frank Robben is strategic advisor at Fedict, the Belgian federal public service responsible for the elaboration and co-ordination of eGovernment in the Belgian federal administration. In that function, he co-developed the concept of the electronic identity card and the company register. Frank Robben is also CEO of Smals, the most important ICT-service provider in the Belgian social security sector. Frank Robben is also a member of the Belgian Privacy Commission and the steering committee of the Belgian federal public service for administrative simplification. He is the Belgian representative in various commissions and working groups of the EU relating to eGovernment, ICT and social security. Finally, Frank Robben is co-founder of and researcher at ICRI (Interdisciplinary Centre for Law and Information Technology) at the University of Leuven. He wrote more than 100 publications relating to eGovernment, management, ICT-law and social security and was elected Flemish public manager of the year 2005.

The CONFENIS 2012 Conference is a joint effort of the Economic Council for East Flanders, the Ghent University and the IFIP TC8 Working Group 8.9 on Enterprise Information Systems.
The sixth International Conference on Research and Practical Issues of Enterprise Information Systems, CONFENIS 2012, will be held in Ghent, Belgium, September 19-21, 2012. CONFENIS, The Enterprise Information Systems International Conference on Research and Practical Issues of EIS, is a primary international event of the IFIP TC8 Working Group 8.9. This event provides an opportunity for academicians and practitioners throughout the world to gather, exchange ideas, and present original research in the field of enterprise information systems. Scientists and professionals are invited to address the current research topics in the area or the research frontier at this unique international forum.
Accepted papers will be published as full or short papers in a Lecture Notes in Business Information Processing (LNBIP) volume by Springer. Chairman of the conference is prof. dr.
